Christine Braa: Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to this month’s Volunteer of the Month, Christine Braa! Christine recently served as the chair of the Pink Tie Ball Committee for our black tie fundraiser on March 19th. Thanks in great part to Christine’s hard work for over a year, the Pink Tie Ball was a huge success!
In April of 2014, Christine joined our Board of Directors, where she currently serves as Treasurer and on the Finance Committee.
As the Pink Tie Ball chair, Christine led a committee of ten other volunteers. She was charged with diversifying Komen NWNC’s fundraising events and oversaw everything from the budget to the small details that made the event special. Christine’s organization was a huge asset in juggling the information associated with hundreds of attendees, auction items, and prizes. She took the vision for the Pink Tie Ball and made it a reality, working with her committee members and the Komen staff to make the Pink Tie Ball a smashing success!
Christine is a co-survivor and volunteers with Komen because she wants to “help educate and spread the word about early detection to women and men in this community and beyond.” In her free time, Christine teaches Jazzercise at a local studio in Winston-Salem.
We are so grateful for Christine’s commitment and passion for Komen. Thanks for all you do, Christine!
