Nancy Nuñez: Volunteer of the Month
June’s volunteer of the month is the wonderful Nancy Nuñez! Nancy has been a Komen NWNC volunteer for years, having been a founding member of the Hispanic Outreach Committee. She started volunteering with an interest in promoting breast health in the Hispanic community, but has since become involved with other Komen initiatives, such as the Race for the Cure. Nancy was an integral part of the Unidos en Rosa Race for the Cure team that had over 80 members and raised several thousand dollars this year! She has also recruited sponsors for the Unidos en Rosa race team, with both cash and in-kind sponsorships.
As the editor of Mia Magazine, a Spanish-language magazine, Nancy makes breast health education a priority. She highlights breast health topics, the Komen Faces of Breast Cancer, the Race for the Cure, and much more.
Nancy is originally from Mexico and was previously a radio DJ!
Thank you, Nancy, for all that you do!
