Roxie Loudenslager: Volunteer of the Month
We are excited to announce this month’s Volunteer of the Month: Roxie Loudenslager! Roxie is our 2015 Face of Breast Cancer for Alamance County and serves on multiple volunteer committees, including Riding for Racks.
In September and October, Roxie took Alamance County by storm! She partnered with her local Komen grant recipient, Cone Health at Alamance Regional, to host an innovative “Pig Races” fundraiser. The hospital departments competed against each other to raise the most money for the Race for the Cure. The Pig Race raised more than $2,000 and has been adopted by other groups as a fun and exciting way to support our organization.
Roxie also organized a Corn Hole Tournament and yard sale to get her local community involved with Komen Northwest NC. Through her infectious personality and passion for our mission, Roxie inspired the most fundraising from Alamance County in the history of the Komen Northwest NC Race for the Cure.
If you meet Roxie once, you’ll remember her forever. Her fun, positive personality lights up the room and she inspires others to support the mission. For 2016, Roxie recruited a new Face of Breast Cancer for Alamance County to expand upon the impact she has made in her community.
We are so grateful for Roxie’s generous spirit and kind heart. We are fortunate to have such a spectacular volunteer!
