Sandy Jones: Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to this month’s Volunteer of the Month, Sandy Jones!
Sandy’s contributions to our mission this year are absolutely outstanding. Her accomplishments as a volunteer stem from her commitment to spreading the word of Komen Northwest NC’s impact. Anywhere she goes, Sandy educates the others about breast health and the importance of our mission. Her infectious personality draws others to the cause in a remarkable way.
As this year’s Stokes County Face of Breast Cancer, Sandy recruited her husband and fellow cancer survivor, Gerald, to represent co-survivors (caregivers) as a Face as well. Together, Sandy and Gerald were able to have a huge impact in their home county. In addition to Faces, Sandy serves on the Race for the Cure planning committee.
Sandy’s passion for our mission is contagious. She inspires others to join her efforts in the fight against breast cancer. Her Race for the Cure team, Sandy’s Bosom Buddies, was once again a top team in fundraising. She recruited volunteers for affiliate events, including our new Pink Tie Ball Co-Chair and Race for the Cure volunteers. She persuaded local business leaders to join the fight as Komen Northwest NC supporting partners.
Given all her efforts, Sandy is still one of the most humble people you’ll ever meet. Her warm, optimistic personality makes anyone feel immediately at ease. We are beyond grateful for all of her hard work and dedication this year!
Thank you, Sandy, for everything!
