Suzanne Stomean: Volunteer of the Month
Our July Volunteer of the Month is the wonderful Suzanne Stomean! Suzanne was a part of the planning committee for this year’s Race for the Cure, and also volunteers with SIA and Miracle on Burke Street. In addition to being a Komen volunteer, she has been raising money for the Race for the Cure for 13 years! For the past seven years she has been on a team with Angie Ward and Q104, with this year being her first as team captain. Suzanne organized all her team fundraisers and meetings while working with Q104. She has hosted several unique events for her Race team and is always finding new and creative ideas to get her friends and family involved with Komen.
Both Suzanne and her mother are survivors of breast cancer. Suzanne was diagnosed at the age of 48 in 2014, while her mother was diagnosed at the age of 49 in 1992, and then again in 2012 at the age of 70. After her mother’s first diagnosis, Suzanne vowed to learn as much as possible and do all she could to find a cure for breast cancer. In her free time, Suzanne enjoys spending time with family and friends, being at the beach, and simply enjoying life. She also enjoys cruises and has been to many beautiful places.
Thank you for all of your hard work Suzanne!
