Bonnie Nash: Volunteer of the Month
August’s Volunteer of the Month is Bonnie Nash! Bonnie is a 16-year breast cancer survivor who has been volunteering with Komen Northwest NC for many years. She is also a very active member on the Shades of Hope (African-American Outreach) Committee. Bonnie is a loving mother and grandmother, constantly sharing her story throughout the Winston-Salem community. Thank you Bonnie for all your continued support.
From Shades of Hope Secretary, Dr. Patricia Flowers: “I first met Bonnie while volunteering as a Novant volunteer at the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center. She was so welcoming and friendly, and loved on me as if I were her own daughter. I don’t think she has ever met a stranger! After coming back to work, I was no longer able to volunteer at the Cancer Center. That is why it is an honor to volunteer with Bonnie again, as a Shades of Hope Committee member. She genuinely cares, and is doing all she can to educate those in our communities about how to reduce their risks of breast cancer, or recurrences of breast cancer. I am glad to know her, as my friend, and as my Pink Survivor Sister. Her recognition as Volunteer of the Month for August is well-deserved. Congratulations to her!”
Thank you Bonnie for all your love & hard work!
