Doris Wedin — Touching Lives Through Quilting

On behalf of the staff at Susan G. Komen Northwest NC, we would like to recognize 79 year old Doris Wedin for her continuous dedication in supporting the fight against breast cancer.  Doris is an inspiration to our community for committing her time and efforts to help women and men who are enduring the fight.  Over the past four years Doris has devoted her time and energy into handcrafting 170 lap quilts to be donated to the Hayworth Cancer Center in High Point.  Along with her generosity towards the Hayworth Cancer Center, Doris also donates her quilts to be auctioned off during Komen Northwest NC’s annual Pink Tie Ball.  During the 2016 Pink Tie Ball Doris donated a beautiful handcrafted quilt in effort to raise funds and to support Komen Northwest NC.  Because of her kind heart, Doris again has offered to donate two more handmade quilts to be auctioned off at the 2017 Pink Tie ball on March 18, 2017.  Doris is an inspiration to the community for her continuous efforts in supporting the fight to eradicate breast cancer.  Thank you again Doris for your lovely quilts and the support to bring to the community!
