Faces of Breast Cancer

Our Faces of Breast Cancer program started in 2011 as a marketing campaign featuring 6 local breast cancer survivors. Since then the Faces of Breast Cancer has developed into a powerful program of women and men serving as ambassadors for Komen Northwest NC in their respective counties. They share their personal journeys of strength, hope, and survivorship. Each of the Faces has a unique journey as either a survivor (starting with initial breast cancer diagnosis), co-survivor (caregiver), or pre-vivor (tested positive for BRCA gene), but share one common mission — to end breast cancer forever.

The Faces of Breast Cancer are representatives of their county serving as liaisons between the local community and Komen Northwest NC. The Faces represent Komen Northwest NC at various events as volunteers, captains of a county-wide Race for the Cure teams, supporters of survivors going through treatment and so much more. Visit the Faces pages below and click on their names to read their personal journeys of courage, hope, and survivorship.

The Faces of Breast Cancer meet monthly from January to December with the option for a second term. Click here for a full description of Faces’ responsibilities.
