Kim Snyder: Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to our Volunteer of the Month, Kim Snyder! If you attended our Race for the Cure last month, you have seen firsthand the products of Kim’s hard work and dedication. As Race for the Cure Co-Chair, Kim and the Race Committee worked tirelessly for nearly a year to ensure the event’s success.
Kim’s service to Komen Northwest NC and the Race for the Cure spans years, themes, and locations. This year in particular, Kim faced several challenges with a positive attitude and effective leadership. When the weather forecast was looking grim, Kim mobilized the Race committee to reorganize the entire event to keep everyone as dry as possible. In just two days, Kim and the team reworked months of logistics and were able to move most of the Race festivities under cover.
Kim faced another hurdle when her Race co-chair fell ill and was not able to attend on Race day (although she was there in spirit!). Kim took on her co-chair’s responsibilities in addition to her own and made sure the Race was a success!
After all of her hard work with Race for the Cure 2015, Kim (and the rest of the Race Committee) are ready to do it all over again! With a Spring 2016 Race planned, Kim is back to work as a leader and is instrumental in planning the Race in such a quick timeframe.
Thank you, Kim, for everything you do! We are so grateful for your service year after year.
